As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will become an important part of the day to day running of the business. You will learn how to manage information, organise records, communicate professionally and provide the administrative support that helps site teams and colleagues keep work moving in the right direction.
What will you be doing?
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Providing general administrative support to the office team
- Answering telephone calls and responding to emails professionally
- Managing, organising and maintaining construction site paperwork
- Inputting information accurately and keeping records up to date
- Organising documents and maintaining effective filing systems
- Supporting site teams with the information and administrative assistance they need
- Helping colleagues keep paperwork, information and tasks organised so that work can progress efficiently
- Learning about the construction industry, the services our client provides and how the different parts of the business work together
As you develop, you will be trusted with more responsibility and encouraged to build your independence, improve your skills and become a confident member of the team.
What you will bring
You do not need to have worked in an office before. This apprenticeship is about developing your ability and giving you the opportunity to build a career.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has good written English and can communicate clearly and professionally
• Is organised and takes care to record information accurately
• Has good attention to detail and understands the importance of getting things right
• Is comfortable learning new systems, processes and ways of working
• Is a quick learner who asks questions, takes feedback on board and is keen to improve
• Has a positive attitude, a good work ethic and a willingness to get involved
• Is interested in understanding how a construction business operates, with an interest in the industry being a real advantage
• Can work well with others and build positive working relationships with colleagues
• Holds a full driving licence and has access to transport, or has a reliable way of getting to and from the office, as the office location is not served by bus routes
You might be leaving education and looking for your first step into the world of work. You might already have experience from another job and want to develop new skills in a different industry. Perhaps you have strong organisational skills but have never had the opportunity to use them in a professional office environment.
Whatever your starting point, if you are reliable, willing to learn and ready to take your development seriously, this could be the opportunity for you.
