The DCTPN is pleased to announce an exclusive masterclass for training provider members, designed to support the delivery of high-quality curriculum, teaching and learning across the sector. As part of our continued commitment to the advancement of education across the region alongside supporting the drive upwards of quality provision and training this latest masterclass offering forms part of a suite of support brought to the sector by the DCTPN.
Focused on practical strategies that bring classroom theory sessions to life, this engaging session will equip providers with effective teaching techniques that help vocational learners and apprentices learn more, and remember more! The masterclass aims to empower educators to create dynamic, impactful learning experiences that drive real outcomes.
We are delighted to welcome renowned industry expert John Evans OBE to lead the session. John is a highly respected Further Education leader and former Principal & CEO of the Cornwall College Group, which achieved an Ofsted Outstanding rating in 2025. He is also a long-standing Ofsted Inspector, with a specialism in apprenticeships, and was recently awarded an OBE for his services to Further Education.
Now working as a trusted ‘critical friend’ to providers across the sector, John brings a wealth of insight, hands-on experience and infectious enthusiasm to his work. This masterclass promises to offer valuable, actionable guidance for providers committed to continuous improvement and excellence in teaching and training.
Asked for his view on the masterclass model John commented: “I am really looking forward to spending time with some of the best staff in the FE sector. Having worked in the South West throughout my career, I’ve always felt proud to be part of a region that consistently performs at a high level.
