Celebrating 20 Years of the Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network

The Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network (DCTPN) proudly marks 20 years of dedicated service to the post-16 education, training, and skills sector.

With over 50 members spanning higher education, further education, and the independent sector, DCTPN stands today as one of the most vibrant, diverse, and proactive networks in the country.

Founded in 2005, DCTPN began as a local initiative to elevate training standards across Devon and Cornwall. Its mission was clear: improve outcomes for individuals and employers, help to boost success rates, and foster collaboration through shared best practices.

Over the past two decades, the network has grown into a nationally recognised leader in apprenticeships, technical education, and vocational training.

Craig Marshall, Retired DCTPN Managing Director, said: “20 years is a fantastic achievement for the DCTPN, especially as it operates in such a fluid and complex sector. It has over the years established itself nationally as one of the leading exponents of apprenticeships, technical and vocational delivery, and I am sure it will continue to flourish.”

From the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy to the shift from frameworks to Standards, the network has remained a constant force for progress, adapting to meet the needs of learners and employers alike.

Maria Woodger, Chair of DCTPN, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to celebrate 20 years of the Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network. DCTPN is built around our members and our region and they’re both testament to the continued growth and strength of the network and the impact our members have on the educational enhancements of our communities across Devon and Cornwall.”
