We are thrilled to announce that the Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network (DCTPN), part of a partnership project, has been recognised for its work with the Nepalese public and private sectors.
Alongside Outsourcery Services LLP, Devon Chamber of Commerce and Exeter College’s Green Skills Advisory Panel (GSAP), the project has been awarded the first-ever Going Global Partnerships Award for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The project, which was funded by the British Council, saw representatives from the further education and private sectors travel to Nepal to share best practice around green skills, and to work with Nepalese partners on promoting vocational and technical training.

While in Kathmandu, the project team helped deliver a green skills summit, which was attended by public and private sector bodies, including government representatives.
The summit addressed issues around curriculum design, employer engagement and how best to attract young people into the construction sector.

The project has resulted in an amazing legacy with continued partnership working between Exeter College, Outsourcery Services, DCTPN and the newly-formed Green Skills Advisory Board (GSAB) in Nepal.
The GSAB in Nepal is chaired by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and employer representatives from organisations such as the FNCCI and CNI.

Fiona Horrell, DCTPN Trustee and Partner at Outsourcery Services, and Luke Moss from GSAP travelled to London for the prestigious awards ceremony, which was organised by the British Council.
Picking up the award, Fi said: “It is an absolute honour to win this prestigious award. Not only to win one of the very first British Council awards for education, but to win the only award for vocational education, is truly something to be proud of.”
