We are delighted to be able to announce that Maria Woodger, Assistant Principal at South Devon College and long-standing Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network (DCTPN) Board member, has been appointed to the role of Chair.
The position recently became vacant due to the resignation of outgoing Chair Gareth Kenward, due to increased work commitments.
Gareth has led the network through a significant period of change with the move to charitable status and a greater focus on community engagement. He remains a valued Trustee of the DCTPN and will continue to support the CEO and Chair as they implement the network’s renewed strategic direction.
Maria has held the role of Vice Chair since 2022, so this step up to Chair is a natural progression. Maria said: “I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that this next phase will take the network; with Devolution around the corner and currently so much change in the sector we will continue to go from strength to strength.
“I hope to do the Chair role the justice it requires and deserves in the same way that Gareth has led us.”
Sharron Robbie, CEO, added: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Maria into the role of Chair, our first-ever female Chair of the DCTPN. This is hugely relevant as we are about to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 (#IWD25). I look forward to working with Maria as the DCTPN moves into its second year as a charity and into its 20th anniversary year!”
