National Apprenticeship Week is the biggest week in the apprenticeship calendar and will take place this year from 10-16 February.
This week-long celebration brings together the entire apprenticeship community to celebrate everything that is brilliant about apprenticeships. From apprentices, employers, training providers, teachers, careers advisers, parents and carers this focus on apprenticeships shines a light on the positive impact they make.
Devon & Cornwall Training Providers Network (DCTPN) members will be running a range of events during the week to showcase the great work apprentices do, whilst raising awareness on the amazing apprenticeship opportunities that exist for young people about to leave school, and for older individuals who are looking to upskill, progress into a new role or sector.
Apprentices make a huge contribution to employers and businesses, supporting with filling vital skills gaps, and aiding in succession planning and workforce development.

Gareth Kenward, Early Years Manager, Babcock International Group, said: “Apprenticeships are vitally important as they provide valuable workforce resource which enable employers to meet the needs of their customers, whilst at the same time, providing fantastic opportunities for apprentices to hone the skills they are learning in preparation for the rest of their careers.
“They bring a host of qualities to the workplace, such as a fresh perspective, new ideas, new skills utilising new technologies and the sharing of best practice between themselves and their more experienced colleagues. They really are a win-win for all parties.”

National Apprenticeship Week 2025 is part of the Department for Education’s ongoing Skills for Life campaign which is engaging young people, adult learners, and employers with government skills and training programmes and the opportunities they bring.
