Exeter College's Apprenticeship programme stands out as one of the best in the country. Its employer engagement, training and workplace delivery has been developed to offer the highest of quality. We have been nationally recognised for our outstanding Apprenticeship provision, from OFSTED showcasing us as a best practice college to winning the inaugural Times Educational Supplement Apprenticeship award.
Think Apprenticeships is a dedicated team that provides over 1000 Apprenticeships to young people each year. Working with our network of employers to match the right student with the right employer, enabling them to learn whilst they earn. Apprentices without doubt bring value into a business and we work effectively with all parties to develop and grow the future workforce.
Not only are we extremely well regarded within the region, we are regularly used as an example of good practice throughout the country.
Our success rates are consistently well above national average and in 2016 were the number one college in the south west for Apprenticeship Provision.
As one of the leading providers for Apprenticeships, we clearly see the benefits our work brings to young people, business and the region’s economy.
We have a business network of over 900 employers stretching across the region. We work closely with each one and offer bespoke Apprenticeship programmes to fit the needs of the business and the young person. Support of our customers is paramount to our success.
Our extensive work with stakeholders and businesses that build programmes and projects to address their skills gaps, creates truly focused Apprenticeship programmes. The result is we add value to the business and the young person quicker and more effectively.
Currency of provision is essential. We recognises no one knows business better than our network. We invite representatives from businesses in to deliver part of the college training provision. They become intrinsic to delivering success.
We have over 70 different Apprenticeship programmes and have over 1,500 Apprentices employed at any one time.
We advertise all our Apprenticeship vacancies on behalf of the employer offering a full recruitment service, including short listing, pre-screening and interview support.
We identify Apprenticeship Ambassadors to deliver advice and guidance to schools and represent Apprenticeship at trade exhibitions, events and school assemblies and career guidance. We acknowledge that the best people to promote Apprenticeships are Apprentices themselves.
Significant resources go into fully engaging with the employers we work with to offer the best possible options for the future workforce of Exeter, Devon and beyond.
