Apprentice of the Month-July 2016

Courtney Dann- Youngs Body Repairs Plymouth

I started my journey at Achievement Training when I attended a meeting with the Apprenticeship team to talk through the vacancies that were available. I selected Youngs Body Repairs among many more to apply for and I hoped for the best. When I received an email informing me I had been offered an interview with Youngs I was over moon and was eager to start preparing for my interview. After a successful interview I was offered a position to start my Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, of course I accepted! Once I had completed my enrolment paper and met my tutor Ruth Thomas I could not wait to start my apprenticeship.

I started at Youngs Body Repairs in June 2015 and I was instantly welcomed by the warming staff and soon become a valid part of the team. On a daily basis, I am front of house to Youngs Car Body Repairs, meeting and greeting customers throughout the day, writing up invoices and estimates, dealing with finances and answering phone calls. I have found my apprenticeship extremely helpful and interesting, as it was so relatable to the work I do and my future.

My apprenticeship has given me the confidence to excel in my performance. With the constant support available from my tutor Ruth Thomas it has made me realise how having theses qualifications to work alongside my work is so important for my future. Courtney achieved the Business Administration Apprenticeship in  July 2016 then progressed onto IT Specialist Apprenticeship.

Tutor Feedback -
Courtney Dann started work as an apprentice with Young's Car Body Repairs and immediately set about studying for her Business Admin Level 2.  Courtney herself identified maths as a subject she would struggle with and applied herself to extra tuition for this determined to complete and was successful in achieving this.  Courtney is hard working and applied a good deal of new learning to the course and her new job.   In short, Courtney is motivated and keen to succeed and learn new skills and add to her experiences.  Courtney has completed her course and has signed up to look at IT to compliment her Business Admin. I look forward to continuing as Courtney's assessor.

Employer Feedback -
Courtney has settled in well, has applied herself well and done everything asked at a high level. Courtney is becoming a valued member of my team. ‘Well done Courtney’.
