MD, The Focus Training Group.

Jamie has worked within the training sector, teaching learners and managing teams, for more than 20 years, and brings a huge amount of experience to the DCTPN Board.

With a career that started out in retail, Jamie has worked across a number of sectors. Early on he showed a flair and passion for training and over the years has not only taught, but also qualified as an assessor, and now holds QTLS status.

Following the closure of Lloyds Training in 1999, Jamie was part of a MBO team, who approached the Training and Enterprise Council for permission to take on the existing contract - this was granted and Focus Training was born!

Since this time, Jamie has been an integral part of the Focus Training management team, helping to grow the workforce to 70, whilst increasing the value of the contracts they hold. The company has expanded its original offer and now offers a wide range of Apprenticeship provision, including hospitality, care, management, retail electrical, gas and plumbing. Focus have also moved into support for the unemployed, accessing the adult skills budget to offer training courses to support people into work.

Alongside his assessor qualifications, Jamie is also a qualified NEBOSH Health and Safety Trainer and has also gained accreditation to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Sessions and Mental Health First Aid. He has also achieved QTLS status.

Jamie has a strong belief in the delivery of quality training, ensuring that he keeps abreast of changes via an active CPD programme and regularly stepping into the classroom to teach.

Jamie has been a DCTPN Board member since January 2016.
